Marathon is in its last two weeks!
Students have just two weeks left to run laps to finish up their Marathon! This week we have added an extra day of running- Kids can run on Tuesday, Wednesday AND Thursday this week during their lunch. Next week, they can run on Tuesday and Thursday only. We REALLY need helpers with our Marathon – please, if you have an hour to give, come down to the track from 11:40 – 1:30 and help out! We will also be crediting the Apex Fun run laps to those kids that were already registered and participating in the Marathon.
Our school is participation in the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge, a free online reading program that invites your children to log their reading minutes all summer. We have made it a priority to keep our student’s skills sharp by encouraging them to read all summer long! The goal is for the students in our school to read the most minutes possible in an effort to win “Best in State” recognition and a mention in the Scholastic Book of World Records. With your help, we can do it! The theme is “Be a Reading Superhero!” An informational letter was sent home last week with your child talking about this summer reading program. It began on May 9, and ends on September 9, 2016! Please go to Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge at www.scholastic.com/summer to register! We will be having a kick-off event on May 19th from 9-12pm and WE NEED 3 VOLUNTEERS to help out! If you are interested, please let the office know, or send an email to email@example.com. Thank you!
