Marathon Success!

We can celebrate another successful marathon! After more than a month of running the marathon program, Morgan Meyers has giving us some statistics. All kids had the opportunity to run laps around the track three days a week during their recess. Here are some stats to be proud of: 411 kids participated 265 participants completed 1 or more miles 146 participants finished (finisher miles were based on grade levels) There was a medal party for all the finishers. 5th Grade Year is an amazing year and camp is a major part of the experience. Camp cannot happen without parents! Information will go home at Ice Cream Social just before school starts both about being a camper as well as the possibility of being a chaperone.  In fact, Ice Cream social is your first opportunity to turn in money for camp…so that is really not that far away! Reminder – Marathon Ends Monday – All extra miles due Monday

The Marathon ends Monday April 30th and all outside of school miles must be submitted by the end of school Monday Parents – Thank you to those who have been out on the track helping Morgan! This is a very large program that the kids love and a very easy volunteer opportunity. Spring Book Fair – Only Two More Days….this Thursday and Friday only

Spring Book Fair – We need cashiers, especially Tuesday 12 to 1:30pm

Spring Book Fair April 23-27 – Mrs. Fay (our librarian) is holding a spring book fair all week during lunch recess.  How It Works:  Students come to school with cash and change (usually in a zip lock bag) so they can purchase books….even the kinders.  The volunteers help the kids choose books and make sure they have enough money….which is why we need more volunteers.  You are also welcome to come to school during recess and help your child pick out a book or two…maybe even have lunch with your child!!
