Crafty fabric-whiz needed!

Are you a quilter?  Know your way around a pair of sewing scissors? In our ongoing effort to increase safety measures at Crescent Heights, we have ordered a new window treatment material that needs to be cut into safety curtains for all of our classroom doors. We are looking for a small group of skilled fabric-workers that can help us cut the material into curtains that will be affixed to all of our classroom doors.  We just need folks that can cut in a straight line, and that own some good fabric scissors. Talent Show

The talent show will be happening the last day of school. Kids should start practicing their acts for tryouts now. For parents that don’t know, each grade holds tryouts during the school day for students hoping to have an act in the talent show.¬† Teachers make sure there is representation from each grade level. Marathon Success!

We can celebrate another successful marathon! After more than a month of running the marathon program, Morgan Meyers has giving us some statistics. All kids had the opportunity to run laps around the track three days a week during their recess. Here are some stats to be proud of: 411 kids participated 265 participants completed 1 or more miles 146 participants finished (finisher miles were based on grade levels) There was a medal party for all the finishers. 5th Grade Year is an amazing year and camp is a major part of the experience. Camp cannot happen without parents! Information will go home at Ice Cream Social just before school starts both about being a camper as well as the possibility of being a chaperone.¬† In fact, Ice Cream social is your first opportunity to turn in money for camp…so that is really not that far away! Our 5th grade girls will be participating in an action filled event the evening of Friday, May 18th. This event gathers 5th grade girls from Crescent Heights, NE Tacoma and Brown Point before they transition to Meeker Middle School. One of the activities planned will be the girls creating a community service project to give back to our local community. Our project can be made possible with many items families have at home waiting to be donated.
