Greetings Huskies! It is definitely feeling like Fall out there…here’s what’s happening this week:
Monday, October 19th: 5th Grade Camp committee meeting, 3:30 PM in the Library.
Wednesday, October 21 – Friday, October 23rd: Book Fair! Hours are:
Wednesday: 12 – 4 pm
Thursday: 2 – 6 pm
Friday: 12 – 4 pm
We can accept cash, checks or credit cards at the book fair! Stop by before or after your child’s conference and pick out a few new books for your home library, or pick out a book from your child’s teacher’s wish list!
Thursday, October 22nd & Friday, October 23rd:
***NO SCHOOL for KINDERGARTEN ONLY.***
Dance-A-Thon Fundraiser Update:
Over the weekend we hit the $17,000 mark! Our online donation site will remain up through the end of the day, Monday, 10/19 to capture any last-minute contributions. Just visit www.givingtools.com/CHEPTA. And of course, we will continue to accept any cash/check donations brought directly to the school! We’d LOVE to hit our $20,000 goal! Let’s make this happen, we are SO close!
Have you checked with your employer to see if they offer donor matching? We are happy to provide any information necessary to be able to receive corporate matching dollars!
Book Fair Volunteers Needed:
We are still in need of some Book Fair Volunteers! Please sign up at our Sign Up Genius if you are able to help out during the Book Fair. We need help setting it up on Monday afternoon, and then help with the fair itself from Wednesday – Friday.
REFLECTIONS ART CONTEST IS BACK!
The PTA is excited to be bringing back to Crescent Heights the National PTA art contest called Reflections!
The theme is “Let Your Imagination Fly…”
The categories are:
**Visual Arts **Dance Choreography **Film Production
**Literature **Music Composition **Photography
The contest begins on October 19th, 2015 and ends on November 13th, 2015. Entries will be judged and some will advance to regional judging. If an entry wins at regionals, it will advance to state. If the entry wins at state, then it will advance to the national level.
An informational letter, general rules, and entry form will go home with your student this week. Please make sure to read the rules so that your students entry will not be disqualified. More details and category specific rules can be found at: this link. We will also have the rules available at school on the bulletin board near the library. Student entries can be turned into the office.
