Monday, April 20th: LAST DAY For Yearbook sales! Get your order in by end of day at www.ybpay.lifetouch.com. Our yearbook ID code is 10719915. Yearbooks start at just $17.00. They will be handed out in June. We will not have yearbooks available to purchase in June, so don’t wait – order yours today!
Monday, April 20 – Friday, April 24: Book Fair. Please see below – WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
Friday, April 24th: Free Dress day! Uniforms optional.
Friday, April 24th: EGG DROP! Work on your egg drop package and bring it to school on Friday!
Friday, April 24th: Skate Night, Pattison’s West, 5:00 – 7:00 PM. All Crescent Heights students and their families are invited! Admission is $6.00 and includes skate rental ($6.50 for in-line skate rental). Parents must accompany their children and remain with them. Drop offs are not permitted.
Wednesday, April 29th: Carnival Planning meeting, 6:00 PM, Lori Reed’s house. Please email LoriM95@yahoo.com if you are interested in helping us finalize the details for our upcoming carnival!
Friday, May 1st: Popcorn Friday! We are looking for a couple of volunteers at 9:30 AM to help us pop, bag and deliver popcorn to classrooms. Please email email@example.com if you are able to assist.
BOOK FAIR HELP STILL NEEDED:
The whole school is excited about our Book Fair, starting tomorrow, Monday April 20 and running through Friday April 24. An amazing selection of books is headed our way! At the book fair, you will find the latest and finest titles for kids, as well as books of interest to parents.
The library will be open for book sales during the lunch/recess hours from 11:30 – 1:20. On Wednesday April 22nd, the Book Fair will be open after school from 3:30 – 4:30. We encourage you to come shop with your child at any of our open book times! Having a grownup to help pick out books and keep their budget in mind is a great help to our kids. When sending in money with your child, please seal it in a baggie or envelope with their name clearly marked on it. Bills (as opposed to a giant bag of coins) is easiest on the kids and the volunteers that will help them figure out what they can afford to purchase with the money they brought from home. Please note that we do have to charge tax, so plan for that when sending in money with your child.
You may also shop online from April 15 – May 1!
If you can’t make it to the Book Fair, or prefer to shop from home, you can also help support our school by shopping online. When shopping online you can shop for an additional 12 days; browse an expanded book collection, and send a wish list to friends and family! All orders are shipped free to Crescent Heights and will be given to your child to take home.

MARATHON UPDATE / HELP IS NEEDED:
The marathon is underway! Kids have begun running their laps on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunchtime. Over 325 students are participating – and we REALLY need your help! We need volunteers to help hand out rubber bands as kids come around the track (to count their laps), help students fill out their running logs, running/walking the track with the students, encouraging them to continue, cleaning up, helping to count log sheets for toe tokens, and to help plan the end of year Marathon party.
We especially need help with our younger grades, from 11:40 – 12:40. Our fabulous Marathon Chair, Morgan Meyers, is requesting that you sign up to help at our Sign Up Genius link. She could really use your help!! Marathon Volunteers needed!! (1)
Climate Survey Open Now:
The Tacoma School District values input from parents, students and staff. The school district believes that a healthy school climate can contribute to the achievement of students. Therefore, the District Climate Survey was designed to gather opinions from our parents, students and staff concerning their perceptions of school climate. The survey covers topics of safety, communication, diversity, student learning and student-led conferences. All surveys are 29 questions and measure the same concepts.
Your input is very important. Your responses are strictly anonymous and you will not be asked to identify yourself at any time during the survey. The survey should take 10 to 20 minutes to complete.

PTA Treasurer Needed:
We are still looking for someone to fill the role of Treasurer for the 2015/16 school year. The board cannot proceed with the 2015/2016 school year without a treasurer. This is more than just money, debits and credits. This role gives you a voice on our executive board! We have made great strides this year and would love to have you join us on the journey for next year. We can help you with the ‘numbers’ part of the role.
