We love our CHE Teachers! Room Parents & PTA have worked together this year to do some nice things for the teachers throughout this next week. If you have not heard from your room parent, please contact them specifically to find out how you can contribute to something for your specific teacher. Classrooms are honoring their teacher specifically on Tuesday, May 5th Teacher Appreciation Day. And, a big thank you to our Hospitality Chair Kim for coordinating a catered lunch for the teachers on Thursday

A fun part of TA week will be Free Dress Day on Friday May 8th! You should have been notified by your room parent of your teacher’s favorite color which is the theme for free dress day. Students may wear whatever is normally allowed on any other free dress day, but have them consider wearing at least 1 thing that is the color in honor of their teacher. If you do not know what color to have your student wear in honor of their teacher, you can email Liz Sawyer, TA Week/Room Parent Coordinator since she has a full list for each classroom.
Other questions or feedback about TA week? Please contact Liz.

Crescent Heights PTA is proud to continue the tradition of recognizing a Golden Acorn recipient(s) from our school.A Golden Acorn is a very special award given by our PTA for individuals who have given outstanding volunteer service and shown dedication to our children and youth.  Candidates are required to be PTA members, demonstrate service to all students, and their volunteer service generally extends into the community in addition to their service through PTA and the school.
Each individual chosen to receive this award will receive a hand-painted gold pin in the shape of an acorn; a special certificate and a monetary contribution will be made in their name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Foundation.  These funds provide scholarships for post-secondary students. We would like you to participate in the selection of our award recipient(s) through your recommendations.

Nominations will be accepted now until May 8th, 2015.  Fill out the form here:  GoldenAcornNomForm2015, or hard copies are available in the school office.  You may return your completed form to your child’s teacher, or drop it off in the office!  Our Golden Acorn Award committee will make the final selection.  Thank you!Questions about the Golden Acorn process?  Please email

The marathon is underway!  Kids have begun running their laps on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunchtime. Over 325 students are participating – and we REALLY need your help!  We need volunteers to help hand out rubber bands as kids come around the track (to count their laps), help students fill out their running logs, running/walking the track with the students, encouraging them to continue, cleaning up, helping to count log sheets for toe tokens, and to help plan the end of year Marathon party.
We especially need help with our younger grades, from 11:40 – 12:40.  Our fabulous Marathon Chair, Morgan Meyers, is requesting that you sign up to help at our Sign Up Genius link.  She could really use your help!!  Marathon Volunteers needed!! (1)

PTA Social Media Chair needed:
The PTA is looking for a new Social Media chair to take over the drafting of these weekly Husky Connection Emails and our Facebook updates.  This is a low-time commitment job – less than 1 hour/week – but an important one.  If you’re looking for a way that you can help out the PTA with the important role of keeping parents informed of events at school, this Sunday evening job might be for you!  Please email if you are interested!
