Greetings Huskies! Here is what is happening this week:
Monday, September 28: Lockdown Drill, 9:30 am
Tuesday, September 29: Dance-A-Thon Donation Collection Day! Send in your donations (checks preferred) in an envelope with your child’s name and teacher’s name on it. Students earn 1 raffle ticket for each $10 they bring in!
Wednesday, September 30: Reading Night/Book Swap, 6 pm – 7 pm. *(see details below)
Thursday, October 1: ASB Elections Assembly, 2:30 pm & Dance-A-Thon Donation Collection Day!
Wednesday, October 7: Picture Day (contact the office if you’d like to volunteer)
We are looking for a few volunteers to help out. There are two shifts, 9 – 12 and 12:30 – 3:30. Volunteers will receive a free picture packet valued at $21.00. If you are able to volunteer for either the morning or afternoon shift, please contact Rhonda Garrison in the office at 253.571.5539.

Friday, October 9: Student of the Month Assembly at 9:30 am

Friday, Oct. 16th: Dance-A-Thon Party at school. Information will be sent home about the timing for classes if parents want to participate.
Wednesday, Oct. 21 – Friday, Oct. 23rd: Fall Conferences *** Early dismissal each day at 12:15 pm.***
Wednesday, Oct. 21 – Friday, Oct. 23rd: Fall Book Fair! Hours are 12-4 pm Wed., 2-6 pm Thurs., and 12-4 pm Fri.
*Reading Night/Book Swap:
Join us on Wednesday, Sept 30th for the kickoff of our Crescent Heights, One Book program! Copies of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be going home with the oldest student in each family on Wednesday. Bring Charlie with you on Wednesday night for some fun reading activities (and cookies!)
The PTA will also be hosting a BOOK SWAP during reading night! Half-Price Books has donated over 500 used books from preschool to young adult reading. Bring in an old book or one that you’ve read a bunch and swap it out for something new and fun. Bring in two and swap them both out. Younger and older siblings attending our reading night are welcome to participate as well! There will also be free bookmarks, HPB coupons and other take-homes from our generous sponsor. Hope to see you there!
Don’t forget that this year we have an online donation tool! This is a great resource for your out-of-town family to easily and securely donate to CHE! We will pull donor information directly from the webpage to make sure your child gets their raffle tickets for those donations. We can also provide you with names and donation amounts for your tracking purposes or to send thank-you notes to donors.
The first in-school donation collection day will be Tuesday September 29th. Please ensure your student’s name and teacher are on the sealed bag or envelope to be turned in.
SHOUT OUT TO CHE DANCERS!!
The PTA would like to recognize our student dancers!! If you’d like to send a short video clip or pictures of your student dancing, we would love to display those on our Facebook page as well as use those videos/photos for future (in-house) assemblies for Dance-A-Thon. By sending in videos or photos, you have given consent for their use to Crescent Heights Elementary and CHE PTA. Help us all share in the fun by sending your photos or videos to firstname.lastname@example.org.
