Tuesday, March 29th: One Book Planning Meeting, 3:45 pm
Interested in providing input on the Crescent Heights One Book program? We invite parents to join us on Tuesday, March 29th at 3:45 as we begin planning for the CHOB program for the 2016/2017 school year. We will be discussing possible book titles and program timing.
Assembly Helpers Needed
We are excited to have Subzero Icecream Shop coming out to do Science assemblies for all 500 Crescent Heights students! However, to make it run more smoothly, we need your help! Each grade level will have their own session which will be tailored to their age & grade level. The assemblies are on Wednesday, March 30th, and Thursday, March 31st. We need three parents at each grade level assembly, so sign up for the session where your kiddo will be in attendance! Sign up to scoop some ice cream here! (And you’ll even get a scoop too!)
Friday, April 1st: Student of the Month Assembly, 9:30 am
This week will also be a good time to check the lost and found for your personal items before leaving for Spring vacation! It is filling up again, and there are lots to be claimed!
Let’s get ready to Run!! The 2016 Crescent Heights Marathon Begins on Tuesday April 12th! The Marathon will occur every Tuesday and Thursdays, April 12 ~ May 26th. Two additional running days will be on Wednesday, April 20th, and May 18th, during lunch recess. A sign-up flyer for students and volunteers has been sent home so please make sure to look for that, and return it to school prior to April 1st. If you are interested in volunteering for this years Marathon, please visit our sign-up genius page at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0A49AFAB2DA3FC1-2016. The most important times for volunteers is during the first few weeks, and during the first two recesses. We have an amazing Marathon Coordinator, but we need volunteers to help set-up, hand out rubber bands (to help count laps), and help students fill out their running logs. The Marathon goes over several weeks; the most important times for help is for the first few weeks, and always with the K-3rd grade kids. Please help out when you can!

2016 Climate Surveys!
The window for feedback collection for the 2016 Climate Survey for our school has opened. I, along with the district, value input from all of our stakeholders – parents, students and staff. The school district believes that a healthy school climate can contribute to the achievement of students. Therefore, the District Climate Survey was designed to gather opinions from our parents, students and staff concerning their perceptions of school climate. The survey covers topics of safety, communication, diversity, student learning and student-led conferences.
Your input is very important. Your responses are strictly anonymous and you will not be asked to identify yourself at any time during the survey. The survey should take 10 to 20 minutes to complete. You can complete the survey anytime between now and April 22nd.

Scholastic Spring Book Fair
April 18 – 22: Sign up to help here! Volunteers are needed for setup, cashiering and helping students with book selection (figuring out if they have enough money to buy the books they want!) and tear down.
There are just two more Popcorn Fridays left for this school year: April 29 and May 27. This is a super quick job ~ just a few hours, once a month, and it’s done! Please sign up to help here!
APEX Fun Run
We fell just a bit short of our minimum goal on our Dance-A-Thon this past fall. To close the gap on our financial shortage, we will be holding a spring fundraiser, put on by Apex Fun Run. You can check them out here! They will be onsite at CHE from April 25 – May 5, providing leadership lessons to each grade level every day. At the end of the two weeks, the week will culminate with a Fun Run! Students will gather pledges for each lap that they run. Apex does 99% of all of the work over the two weeks; we just need volunteers to help out on the Fun Run day to cheer kids on, and check off the boxes on the back of their Fun Run T-shirts to keep track of how many laps they have run. We’ll post the link to help out at the Fun Run just as soon as we finalize the times!
