Important PTA Meeting, Tuesday, March 10th, 6:30 PM
Crescent Heights Families,
I would like to personally invite you to our PTA membership meeting tomorrow, Thursday, March 10th, at 6:30 PM in the school library.
We are very fortunate to have to administrators from the Tacoma School District coming to speak to Crescent Heights Families. Ms. Toni Pace, Assistant Superintendent of K-12 Support, and Mr. Dan Tharp, Director of Elementary Education, will both be on hand for Q&A with our families. The PTA board has asked them to address three important topics: Common Core, Smarter Balanced Assessment testing, and what the selection process will look like for our new Principal. We know that many of our families have questions and concerns about Common Core and how we can best support our children. Smarter Balanced is a new testing method for all Tacoma school district students, and you may have questions about that as well. And having an understanding of how our new school leadership will be selected, what the timing of that looks like, and if parents will have input in the selection is also very important.
It has been quite some time that we’ve had TSD leadership of this level right here at Crescent Heights. I would love to see a packed house for this important meeting. Input from a wide variety of families and grade levels is important for the success of our school, and I invite you to be a part of the conversation. Childcare will be provided for your school-age children.
I hope to see you there!
