2017-2018 PTA Sponsored Programs
Consider helping in one (or more) of the following PTA sponsored programs. Volunteers are always needed and Chair and Co-Chair positions are still available. Please contact the PTA if you would like to volunteer: firstname.lastname@example.org
Books for Birthdays:
Make your child’s birthday extra special and help our library grow, by donating a new book to the CHE library. Your child will make a selection from list of books that has been specifically chosen by Mrs. Fay, our librarian. Your child will get to be the first to check the book out, and will get a special photo taken of them with the book that they are donating to our library! The book will include a bookplate with your child’s name, birthday, and the year the book was donated. This is a wonderful way to show your child the value you place on reading and education. Leave a legacy by donating a book to our library!
Kindergarten – Second grade students may choose books from this wish list. Third – Fifth Grade students may choose books from this wish list. Please only choose from books on our wish list. Books must be hardcovers. We will not be able to accept any paperback books. Ship your book directly to our school via checkout!
The PTA puts on an event for the CHE Student body each spring. A Carnival or Movie night more make for a fun way to close out our school year. The Spring Event chair helps to organize, plan and secure vendors and volunteers for the event and also coordinates all of the parent volunteers for the event.
Family Fun Nights
The PTA coordinates and advertises a variety of Family Fun Night activities throughout the year. These are not fundraisers, but rather opportunities for students and their families to get together and to continue to build our CHE community.
5th Grade Camp & Party
Volunteers work in a group to plan our trip to Camp Seymour, and an annual end-of-year party for our 5th graders in honor of their time at CHE.
Reflections Art Program
The Reflections Art program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition. The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.
Each year, Reflections challenges students to create art that supports a specific theme. Young artists get involved in Reflections through their local PTA. A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts (which includes art forms such as drawing, painting, print making, and collage). For more than 40 years, the program has encouraged millions of students across the nation and in American schools overseas to create works of art. In 2017 we had our first State award winner!
We love our teachers and staff at CHE, and want to show it! Teacher Appreciation week is packed full of creative activities and culinary treats to show our teachers and staff that we truly appreciate all that they do for our children. The PTA also hosts quarterly hospitality luncheons for all staff to say thank you for all of their hard work.
