Save Kobetich Library
Dearest Friends and CHE Families,
As many of you may know our neighborhood library, Mary Rose Kobetich is on the list of proposed library closures. See the article in the News Tribune here – Proposed Closure for Kobetich. It would be a major loss to our community and our children not to mention the local daycares, home schooled children and elderly members of our community who can’t physically make it to another Tacoma branch.
We encourage you to use social media as the powerful voice it is by “checking in” at the library when you visit, “Liking” the library and writing reviews on Facebook at Tacoma Library Kobetich. When posting pictures or checking in, remember to include #savekobetich so that the Tacoma library administration and local government can see our efforts. This is an opportunity to have your voice heard!
Make the most of your visit and take advantage of these Free library resources which are available in the library and online all summer long:
Homework Help: HelpNow! (Grades 3-12) Live Homework Help, Skills Building and Writing Workshops. Tutoring services are available everyday from 3 PM to 10 PM.
Culture Grams: CultureGrams (Grades 3 and up) Learn about the culture and customs of 200+ countries of the World, the 50 United States, and the Canadian Provinces. Includes photos, videos and more.
And please don’t forget about the Tacoma library’s Pathway Program (your student was automatically enrolled in this program earlier this year). It allows your student to checkout up to 5 items (not DVDs) with no fees on overdue items. They can take their new library card or use their student ID number at the library!
If you would like to send a personal note, ask questions or have comments about the closure and how this will affect our community, you can contact the Library Director at email@example.com, call (253) 292-2001 ext. 1111 or by mail at Tacoma Public Library 1102 Tacoma Avenue South Tacoma, WA 98402. (Attention: Library Director)
Lets all work together to help save Kobetich library!
