This week’s Teacher Tuesday profile is on our Kindergarten teacher LaNae Rice. Here’s more about LaNae!
Tell us a bit about your family. Do you have kids? If so, what ages are they? Do you have pets?
My husband’s name is Paul and he works for the city of Gig Harbor. We have two girls Laurel, 24 and Haley, 22. Both went to Crescent Heights and are now UW graduates! Haley just graduated June 8th. We have one cat named Lucy.
We love to spend time as a family. We like to travel, go out to eat, and go to or watch Husky, Seahawks, and Mariners games. I like to spend time with friends and enjoy growing flowers. How long have you been teaching, and how many years at Crescent Heights?
I have been at Crescent Heights since it opened in 1999, and prior to that worked in the Bethel School District.
What is the funniest thing a student has ever done in your class?
There are so many funny things….this year, one of my kiddos told me they were half cat! 🙂
If you weren’t a teacher, what else would you love to do as your career?
I think I would be a marine biologist if I were not a teacher!
I feel thankful that I get to work with such wonderful families and children! Thanks LaNae!
