Three Important Announcements from PTA

Good evening Crescent Heights Families,

Three important updates for this evening:

First – Tomorrow is our first collection day for our FUNdraiser!  DATThumb
We hope that all of the kids have been asking family and friends for donations, and having fun dancing in the process!  All of the details are available at our website, at  One point of clarification – students do not need to fill out a pledge sheet or bring in any sheet with donation information on it.  They simply need to bring in the envelope with their name & teacher’s name on it so that we can track it properly and get them their raflle tickets!  Our base level goal is $20,000 – if we can hit this – we will NOT have to do a “selling” fundraiser in the spring.  Please, help us hit this minimum goal!

Second – A reminder that Reading Night is this Wednesday, Sept 30th from 6 – 7 PM.  (Remember to bring a few books for our book swap!)  Reading night ties in with the 2nd year of our Crescent Heights, One Book program.  The book for this year is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!  The book and reading calendar will be sent home on Wednesday with your oldest child that attends CHE.  Please use the reading calendar as a guideline; if you’re not able to read the assigned chapter for the evening, there is time built into the calendar (on weekends) for catch up!

This program would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors:  2015 One Book SponsorsLarge
Kia of Puyallup – Gold Level Legacy Sponsor
Sylvan Learning Center of Federal Way – Gold Level Sponsor
Bill Drew of Windermere Realty – Silver Level Sponsor
Family of Mary Sue Anderson – Silver Level Sponsor
Brady Nelson, State Farm Insurance – Bronze Level Sponsor

We would also like to thank Kim Peterson, Jenn Schmitt, Nancy Bazzetta and Shirley Best for their assistance in putting labels in all the books, and sorting and distributing them to teachers.  A very special thank you to our One Book Chair, Dana Flynn and to CHE teacher Jennifer Jones for bringing this program to our school and for their dedication and passion for this project.

Finally – The Yearbook team needs your photos!
As the school year gets into full swing with classroom parties, field trips, dancing, and just joining your student for lunch, this will provide you with opportunities to capture those moments!  We want to capture them too, in our 2015-2016 Crescent Heights Yearbook.  Camera

If you have pictures from your child’s field trip, WE WANT THEM!  If you have pictures from your child’s harvest party, holiday party (or ANY party), WE WANT THEM!  We would love candid shots of groups of kids at lunch, in the classroom or at recess…silly faces, smiling faces, any faces!  This helps us make sure we capture all the kids, all the activities, and all the fun!

It’s never too early to start.  We are accepting photos now.  You can share your pictures with us by sending them to  If possible, please include the names of the students, grade, and the activity (if it’s not too obvious).  We thank you for your help!
