Updates from your PTA
Good morning Husky families!
January is going to be a busy and FUN month for PTA! We have a lot of things coming up – so wanted to drop them all in a quick note for you!
Tomorrow is our 2nd PTA meeting of the year. On the agenda is a special guest speaker from the Tacoma Police department. Topics will include social media dangers; safety tips for commuting students, preparing for lockdown & evacuation scenarios and more. Also on the agenda – we will be discussing the results of our Apex Fundraiser, discussing McTeacher night, Paint Night and our upcoming Crescent Heights, One Book program. It will be an information-packed meeting, and we invite you to join us. Childcare will be provided, in the instructional room. See you tomorrow, Tuesday Jan 10th, at 7 PM in the library.
Also coming up in January is our annual McTeacher Night / Trampoline Nation night! This is one of our most popular family fun nights of the year. Your Crescent Heights Teachers will be taking over our local McDonalds (Federal Way crossings, across the street from Costco). Join us at McDonalds on Tuesday, January 24th from 5 – 7 PM and your teachers will be working the drive-thru, serving up french fries, and working the cash register! Also on the 24th is our first Trampoline Nation night of the school year. CHE students can jump from 4 – 9 PM for just $7 for the first hour, $5 for an additional hour. McDonalds, exercise, and supporting the PTA – what could be more fun?
We have an idea of what could be JUST as fun as McTeacher/Trampoline Nation night! How about a FREE family event for Crescent Heights students and their families? Thanks to a partnership with the Tacoma School district and KBTC, we are thrilled to host a “Paint to Learn & Learn to Paint” night at Crescent Heights on Thursday, January 26th. All supplies are provided at no cost. We will also have light refreshments to keep you hydrated and ready to show your creative side! An instructor will be on hand to walk us through a fun painting project. Again – there is NO COST to you to attend – we just ask that you RSVP so that we ensure we have enough supplies. Please RSVP at www.chepta.eventbrite.com. Request a ticket for each attendee – you and your child(ren). We are only the 2nd school in the district to host this event, so we are REALLY excited to see LOTS of our Crescent Heights families there!
Yes, that last week of January will be a busy week – but it’s all great stuff that will allow you to support the PTA and connect with other families in our community. We hope to see you all at both of these events. If you have any questions, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
