2017-2018 Volunteer Opportunities!

PTA volunteers set up, sell and promote the Scholastic Book Fair. This year’s PTA fall book fair is from Dec 6 – 8, 2017. The school Spring book fair will be in April, 2018.
Crescent Heights, One Book (CHOB):
The CHOB Chair works with the school principal to select an appropriate book that the entire school reads together over the course of a month. The CHOB chair will work with other volunteers to develop a reading schedule, assemblies, and other activities in support of the program.
The Emergency Preparedness Chair helps to ensure that our emergency supplies are sufficient and ready in case of emergency.
Each spring students will participate in Field Day activities. While largely coordinated by CHE Staff, parent volunteers are needed day-of to help execute the event.
Our Fundraising chair selects and coordinates fundraising activities for the year. Funds raised via Fundraising mechanisms pay for field trip busing, PTA assemblies, student scholarship funds, teacher discretionary funds, and more.
The communications chair is responsible for working with school administration to gather information about events for the upcoming weeks, and drafting and distributing a weekly email, called Husky Connection. To sign up for these emails, please go to www.chepta.org and sign up on the home page.
The Communications chair is also responsible, along with the Executive Board, for updating the PTA’s Facebook page and other social media tools.
In Touch With Art
This program brings art into the classroom via parent volunteers. Parent volunteers will use provided materials to guide a classroom through a planned art project. Large project or small – the In Touch with Art chair can make this program their own!
The Legislative Chair acts as a liaison between parents, our local PTA branch, and the state-wide PTA program. This volunteer would be the voice for CHE PTA for any state PTA legislative issue on the table and would advocate for CHE students on their behalf.
Our Marathon chair will help to plan and execute the yearly CHE marathon, which takes place over several weeks.
The Membership chair is responsible for PTA membership information updates through data entry support.
The PTA provides popcorn to all students approximately once per quarter. We rely on volunteers to help to pop, bag and deliver the popcorn to our classrooms.
Pottery / Ceramics
We are fortunate to have a pottery program at CHE! The Pottery chair works with staff to determine projects and works with each classroom to create a handmade pottery item for each student.
Rebates and Rewards
Earn much needed money to support our PTA programs by collecting box tops, using the Scrip program, shopping our Amazon Smiles link and more. Consider company matching for donations and other programs. Visit the Rebates & Rewards page for more details.
Room Parent Coordinator
Our Room Parent Coordinator communicates with Room Parents from each classroom on class party information, teacher appreciation week, and to make sure they have the tools they need to support teachers and classrooms.
Show your spirit this year by wearing a CHE hoodie or T-shirt. Spirit Wear can be purchased in the fall of each year. 5th Grade students have their own special sweatshirt!
The Used Uniform chair coordinates buyback and resale events of used uniforms throughout the year. This allows our CHE families to purchase gently used uniforms at greatly discounted prices.
Our Website Chair works to keep our PTA website up to date with PTA and school news and events.
Help your child preserve some wonderful memories by purchasing a CHE yearbook. Always a hit, these colorful books are sure to bring a smile to your child’s face. Committee members take photos, create page layouts, and organize yearbook sales.
