Weekly Husky Connection Sept. 12th-16th
We welcome the kindergartener’s starting this week! When kinder students arrive they will line up outside Mrs. Rice and Mrs. Sharp’s classroom along the exterior building wall on the small playground.
Curriculum Night is Thursday, September 15th beginning at 6:00 p.m in the gym. There will be 2 separate presentations from our teachers. Ending time is 7:30.
Membership Drive is underway now! September is our big PTA membership drive! We encourage you to become involved in our active PTA! Membership is just $10, and it helps to fund crucial programs such as arts, ceramics, field trip busing, student scholarship funds, reading programs, classroom supplies and more! Being a member of our PTA also provides you with a clear voice in our school’s direction and provides support at the local and state levels with advocacy and legislation.
Crescent Heights is also the ONLY PTA in the state of Washington that is participating in the Baskin Robbins “Membership is Sweet” program – where your PTA membership gives you a BOGO Ice Cream from Baskin Robbins! It’s like you’re getting $3 back on your membership right from the start! There are also over a dozen local and national discounts available exclusively for PTA members – we’ll give you all of the information about those when you sign up, too! Use just one or two during the year, and your membership will pay for itself!
We’re currently at about 93 members – or about 20% membership. Our goal this year is to be at 100% membership! This means one membership for every student! Have you considered purchasing a membership for your spouse? Parents? Aunts or uncles? Any adult can be a PTA member, and you can also purchase a “scholarship” membership for a family that might not be able to afford one. Let’s see if we can get there this year!
To sign up, attach your payment to your yellow form in the PTA packet, or pick up a payment envelope from the office or the PTA bulletin board outside of the library.
Yellow PTA form Collections: Please take a moment to fill out and return your yellow 2016/2017 Contact Form that was included in your Back-to-School packet. Simply return to school with your child!
Reflections Art Program: The PTA is getting ready to launch the national PTA arts program called “Reflections”. We are looking for a few parent volunteers to help coordinate art submissions, judging, an art show, and preparation of continuing entries to the council and state level. If you are interested in helping out with this short-term, super creative program, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
PTA Meet & Greet: The PTA is hosting our first general membership meeting and Meet & Greet on Tuesday, September 27th from 6 – 8 PM at the Center at Norpoint. This is a casual, get-to-know-you event hosted by the PTA Executive board. Appetizers and beverages will be served! We invite you to join us for a fun evening of conversation, new and returning friends, and a chance to meet our newest staff. Please RSVP by Thursday, Sept 22nd at email@example.com.
